The United Church hosts a community dinner from 12n - 1pm on the 3rd and 4th Thursdays of each month (some holiday exceptions). We typically serve 40-80 meals, both on-site and delivered. Folks who eat in the dining room with us have remarked that it's a wonderful opportunity for community fellowship. Volunteers also deliver meals to those who are homebound.
3rd Thursday Meals are sponsored by the Center for Agricultural Economy (https://hardwickagriculture.org) with volunteer support from Hazen High School students. Thank you CAE and Hazen!
4th Thursday meals are sponsored by our church with volunteer support from both members and non-member friends. Volunteers typically prepare the main course in their own homes and bring it to the church for distribution. Some volunteers also help prepare side dishes in our kitchen, set up tables & chairs, or purchase items such as rolls, chips, and desserts to supplement the main meal.
